Photoshoot at Galleri Würth 2024: Chiye

I am delighted to show you how magnificent model Ammal Ahmed Haj Mohamed, with make-up & hair by Hina Suleman, looked wearing Chiye, at Galleri Würth, outside of Oslo in June. Photographer Eivind Røhne captured all these amazing photos. I chose to style it with a pair of tight leather trousers and a black silk blouse, but also over the pullover Maimi – as the colours looked great together.

The vest is designed for Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk and knitted in their lovely Sol lambswool yarn using a 3.5 mm/US 4 needle with a 21 stitches and 30 rows gauge in stockinette stitch measuring 10 cm/4″ square. Yarn kits with an English or Norwegian pattern will soon be available directly from their website.

As for stitch pattern I wanted to have a second go with the same cable and double seed stitch panel I used on Kamika. This time I chose stockinette stitch in the sides and this creates a lovely contrast to the other two textures. I love the look of the double hem and made sure I did not make the stitch patterns too wide for the shoulder width, so it could be knitted nearly all the way up to the shoulder.

Instead of making buttonholes I decided to use a shawl pin to hold the vest together.

The Norwegian look, ideal for cold weather days, is wearing a knitted pullover under Chiye.

Here is a detail of the back, that shows the cable and the double seed stitch panel better. Ammal told me that this is a look she loved and would wear a lot! I was ever so chuffed to hear it, as you can imagine! The earrings are designed by Kaja Gjedebo Design.

Eivind took this close up of Ammal and I think it is a wonderful photo of her as well as showing off the design. Chiye is currently being test knitted, and the individual pattern will be released when it is completed.
