Behind the Scenes: Photoshoot at Gallery Würth 2024

On Tuesday we had another brilliant photoshoot – for 7 new and 1 old design – back at Galleri Würth, just outside of Oslo. In June last year we had a warm and sunny day, but not this time around, it poured down most of the day and we gave up photographing outside. Instead we set up by the staircase going down to the gallery itself. I captured both photographers – Eivind Røhne and my husband – wanting to picture model Ammal Ahmed Haj Mohamed’s resting position. She was such a natural model and enjoyed showing off the garments. Ammal is wearing a vest made for Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk in their Sol lambswool yarn.Yes, the blankets and bags on sale, hanging on the rights hand side, is part of the gallery shop. The red box next to Eivind, in the top photo, is filled with tools, going back to the history of the German wholesale business for screws and bolts, established by Adolf Würth with only two employees in 1945. Now it has more than 87,000 employees. The company has a cultural commitment with an extensive art collection amassed during the last 60 years by Reinhold Würth, who took over his father’s company at the very young age of 19 back in 1954. The gallery just outside of Oslo is a hidden gem! Above you see the impressive Make-up & Hair stylist Hina Suleman in action, outside our meeting room downstairs (as the hallway had better daylight).

I spotted Ammal in the national newspaper several years back, when she was interviewed in her role as Diversity & Inclusion Leader at Sentralen in Oslo. This time it finally worked out; Ammal could be my model. Here she is wearing the old design Hanasa, a pullover with a cowl. Hina is styling her hair, while I am straightening the cowl. I am wearing my Bell Jacket, first published in my Norwegian knitting book, now available in English on Ravelry, knitted in Valley Yarns 8/2 Tencel held double.

Here you see us studying the last photos Eivind took directly on his laptop. Ammal is wearing two of the new designs for Hillesvåg: Emika, a cape/shawl/poncho, worn over the pullover Maimi. Both are knitted in Sol lambswool yarn. During the day, Michael also made a behind the scenes video which you can see as a paid subscriber to my Patreon page, together with a monthly newsletter (about my work each month) with all the new designs, Hillesvåg yarn discount plus pattern discounts and more. I had a fantastic day with my brilliant team! Thank you so much and also to Galleri Würth for having us!
