Photoshoot at Bøler Church 2023: Ayaka

Take a look at this fantastic shot, captured by photographer Eivind Røhne, of jazz singer Anette Løvtangen wearing my Ayaka design over a black dress at Bøler Church back in December last year. The gorgeous Make-up & Hair styling was done by Hina Suleman. Ayaka is an A-line jacket with a climbing lace and cable pattern inspired by the luscious, vivid almost luminous violet colour of a silk & merino blend from Save the Yarn in Switzerland (yes, that is excess yarn from the fashion industry that would otherwise be pulped). The sample is knitted using a 3.5 mm/US 4 needle with a 25 stitch and 34 rows gauge measuring 10 cm/4 inches square.Anette is wearing size 1 with 12 cm/4.75 inches of negative ease and the sample was knitted using a 3.5 mm/US 4 needle with a 25 stitch and 34 rows gauge measuring 10 cm/4 inches square. I have graded the jacket in sizes 1 to 9 with a closed bust circumference of 82 to 158 cm/32.25 to 62.25 inches. Ayaka is knitted in pieces from the bottom up and seamed. The frontband is worked at the same time as each front and is a simplified pattern repeat of the sleeve pattern. The test knit begins on Monday 10th of June in my Ravelry group, and the Ayaka pattern will be released at the end of July.
