I want to tell you the story about the Fulla Cardigan, as it has been photographed again for the third time; firstly by Michael on me, secondly by the British magazine “The Knitter” and thirdly by photographer Eivind Røhne on model Emmalin Williams. Yes, it was made for “The Knitter” and first published in issue 175 in April 2022.

I knitted the Fulla Cardigan in four colours of Felted Tweed using a 4 mm/US 6 needle. The story began with a design submission sent back in December 2020 and I chose the intoxicating pastels mood board for Spring/Summer 2021 as my source of inspiration.

The Fulla Cardigan has also been published in the German version of “The Knitter Deutschland, 63/2023” as well as the Norwegian magazine Familien Høststrikk 2022. Now, the rights have reverted to me and new photos have been taken for my pattern version available in English and Norwegian on Ravelry.

The Fulla Cardigan is worked in one piece and is seamless. The body is worked in one piece up to the armholes, with a faux side seam made by a purl stitch and sides in stocking
stitch, then is divided into three parts for fronts and back. The shoulders are worked
with short rows and joined with a three-needle bind off. The sleeves and the bottom
band are worked top down. The collar is picked up at the end; first one tuck is made
in CC1 (white), then worked in garter stitch, using CC2 (lilac), with increases at the centre back neck. The collar ends in an i-cord bind off in CC3 (black). In addition, a decorative i-cord in CC3 (black) is worked around the top of the sleeve cap.

I have graded the pattern in sizes from XS to 5XL with a bust circumference of 82 to 156 cm/32.25 to 61.5″. The Fulla Cardigan is knitted with a 22 stitches and 30 rows in stocking stitch gauge measuring 10 cm/4 in square using 4 mm/US 6 and 3.75 mm/US 5 needles.
