The next set of photos I will share from the photoshoot at Bøler kirke/Church, with the amazing model Emmalin Williams, is of the Riona pullover. I chose to style the ice green pullover with a long silk skirt by Armani – last worn by me when I got married back in 2003 – and jewellery on loan from Kaja Gjedebo Design. Photographer Eivind Røhne took these brilliant photos after Stylist Janne Skarpeid Hermansen had finished Emmalin’s hair and make-up. Janne and I had talked through the hair styles I liked beforehand.

 I thought the concrete walls in the entrance hall would make a perfect backdrop for these photos of Riona. Named Riona, Irish for queenly, is this fitted pullover graced with Celtic cables and crowned by a collar ending in a regal I-cord. A peplum looking bottom band, in double seed stitch with a tuck and a narrow band of reverse stockinette stitch, adds a touch of nobility to the sweater. The sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch, except for the cuffs, to allow the cables to shine. Riona is worked in pieces for the ultimate fit and knitted in the airy Norwegian combed yarn Ask from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk.

This is the very first garment we photographed on Emmalin and it did not take long until she was comfortable in front of the camera. Emmalin is wearing size XS but I have graded the pullover in sizes XS to 5XL with a bust circumference of 85 to 160 cm/33.5 to 63″. The sample is knitted in Ask using a 3.5 mm/US 4 needle with a 22 stitches and 30 rows in stockinette stitch gauge measuring 10 cm/4″ square.
