The Japana pattern has been released in English and Norwegian on Ravelry, after a successful test knit with some beautiful results. You can see their stunning versions on the Ravelry pattern page. They helped me correct and improve the pattern, after technical editor Corrina Ferguson had checked my math as well as measurements. I knitted Japana in the lovely Noro Madara yarn sponsored by Knitting Fever.
Japana – whispering in Japanese – is a high-low pullover in a ridge pattern with swinging side panels that ends in a high standing collar. The side panels are picked up and knitted after the side seams are done. Wear it as you like; hanging loose or gathered with a belt or with a shawlpin at the front. Japana is knitted in the lovely wool and silk yarn Madara from Noro.
Here is model Ammal Ahmed Haj Mohamed, with make-up & hair by Hina Suleman, wearing Japana. Photographer Eivind Røhne captured these amazing photos at Galleri Würth.
