The last of the new Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk designs I want to share with you is the vest, Kibo. I knitted the sample in Tinde pelsullgarn using a 3.5 mm/US 4 needle size and a 21 stitches and 30 rows in stockinette stitch gauge. In these photos, taken by my husband at the National Museum in Oslo, you see me wearing size 2 (out of 9) with a bust circumference of 107.5 cm/42.25″ with 19.5 cm/7.75″ of positive ease. The test knit of Kibo begins on 15th of April and after completion the pattern will be released in English and Norwegian in my Ravelry Store. Yarn kits will soon be available directly from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk.Kibo, Japanese for hope, is a straight oversized vest with a deep armhole bind off replaced by a wide armholeband. Kibo is adorned with a central double seed stitch pattern, except for the sides which have a line of stocking stitch. The neckband is worked in the round with shaping, the armhole bands are worked flat and seamed in, and the body is worked back and forth in two pieces with side seams for a better fit. Kibo is knitted in Tinde with lustre from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk.
New Design: Kibo
Long before the test knit, I will show you how stunning it looked on model Anette Løvtangen at our photoshoot.
