I am thrilled to show you two new designs, made to be worn together, both knitted in the lovely Elsebeth Lavold, Silky Wool in the shade Chalk 01 by me. Elsebeth brought the yarn to me when she and her husband visited back in June 2018. Finally, I had the right design for it; a cabled dress – Osku – and a large matching cowl – Piran. Both designs were professionally photographed by Wenche Hoel-Knai, worn by the gorgeous Emmalin Williams – with make-up & hair by Janne Skarpeid Hermansen and jewellery by Kaja Gjedebo Design – in December last year.
In these photos you can see me wearing the dress in size XS/S with a 106 cm/41.75″ bust measurement and 93 cm/36.5″ hip measurement, with 18 cm/7″ positive ease at bust and 0 cm ease at hip. Michael has photographed me in our front garden. Both designs are knitted with a 4 mm/US 6 needle and a 22 stitches and 30 rows gauge in Stockinette stitch gauge measuring 10 cm/4″ square after blocking.
Named Osku old Irish for friend is this relaxed dress adorned with large sculptural cables and crowned by an I-cord. The sleeves are all in stockinette stitch to allow the cables to stand out and are worked top down. While the body is worked bottom up in the round – with shaping for the hips and bust – to the armholes, then back and forth with only the shoulders sewn together. Osku is knitted in the divine Silky Wool by Elsebeth Lavold and can be worn together with the matching Cowl; Piran.
I have graded the pattern in the following sizes XS/S (M/L, XL, 2XL) (3XL, 4XL, 5XL) with these bust measurements: 106 (117, 128, 139) (150, 161, 172) cm/41.75 (46, 50.5, 54.75) (59, 63.5, 67.75)“.
Finally I will share another way of wearing the cowl as well as a back view of it.
Both designs will be test knitted in my Ravelry group beginning on the 3rd of July before the patterns are released both in English and Norwegian. Before then I will show you the fantastic photos from the photoshoot.
