Let me introduce you to Briana Thompson from the US, who has knitted this wonderful version of Sirona in Tinde in Green 2126 from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk in size Medium. On her project page for “My Emerald Isle” on Ravelry she writes: “Yarn color is insanely gorgeous! Must be the prettiest green I’ve ever seen. It’s luminous!”. I am impressed to hear that it is Briana’s first major cable project, as it is not the easiest cable to work at first. Hence it took her some trial and error to figure the cables out. She continues: “The pattern is wonderful and precise. Once I got comfortable it really flew for me!”.

Here is my introduction to the pattern: Sirona is Celtic for Star Goddess, the name for this fitted pullover with an intricate central cable surrounded with smaller cables and double seed stitch. The round neckline needed a crown and was given an I-cord bind off decoration. Sirona is knitted in pieces in the divine The Fibre Co. Cumbria.

The Sirona pattern comes in sizes XS to 2XL with a finished bust circumference of 86 to 126 cm/33.75 to 49.5″, knitted with a gauge of 20 sts and 28 rows in stockinette stitch using 4 mm/US 6 needle measuring 10 cm/4” square. The English pattern is available on Ravelry, Love Crafts and Makerist.
